Special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation office in White Plains will be among those receiving awards this week at separate ceremonies in Westchester and Rockland Counties. In connection with National Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Week, Westchester County will hold a Police Memorial Day ceremony on Thursday, May 18, 2006. The event will take place at 12:00 noon at the Westchester County Center, Little Theatre, Second Floor, Tarrytown Road, White Plains. Among the honorees will be FBI agents and police detectives assigned to the Westchester County Violent Crimes Task Force for their work in the location and apprehension of a violent fugitive wanted for the murder of a Norfolk, Virginia, police officer. On Friday, May 19,
2006, the Rockland County Police Chiefs' Association will hold its Police
Week Awards Ceremony at the Rockland County Fire & Police Training
Center at 11:00 am. Among the award recipients will be FBI agents from
the White Plains FBI office who worked toward the successful resolution
of the armed takeover robbery of a Pearl River credit union office. During
this robbery, credit union employees and customers were held hostage at
gunpoint. Also honored will be an FBI agent for her role in the investigation
and prosecution of Rockland resident and Gambino organized crime family
soldier Vincent Corrao. |
